CITIZEN'S CHARTER REGARDING SPORTS FACILITIES AVAILABLE IN CHANDIGARH

The Sports Department, Chandigarh Administration and Chandigarh Sports Council offers the Sports Facilities for Coaching and training purposes in Chandigarh. The Coaching and training in all the sports disciplines is imparted by the sports coaches of the Department / Council. The Department also allows the use of its stadias / grounds to conduct competitions / coaching camps of State/ National / International levels against charges There are full time Managers / Supervisors for the maintenance and smooth functioning of the Stadiums. In addition to this, there is a separate provision of State Level scholarship for the students of schools , colleges and university @ Rs. 1000/- for senior category (winner) and Rs. 600/- for junior category per year.

There is also special provision for sports gradation in the sports disciplines or the purpose of admission in the professional colleges and schools as per norms sports gradation policy.

  • The users charges shall be for a financial year. i.e.

    • Any student or non-student joins in between the financial year shall have to pay at least half yearly prescribed fee.
    • Stadia shall be provided free of charge to the recognized U.T. State Associations to hold State (all groups)/National championships and other tournaments and camps/trials.  In lieu of this the Sports Associations shall provide technical assistance and technical personnel’s for the conduct of tournaments / cup etc., being organized by Sports Department without any remuneration applicable to only those Associations who are duly recognized by COA/CSC. No free of charge stadia for parallel associations.
    • The VIP rooms of Sports Hostel, Sports Complex, Sec. 42, Chd  shall be booked @ Rs.400/- Per room per day and shall be allotted on request of Sports Federations/ Associations/ Eminent Sports persons/ Parents of Hostel Wards & staff members of the Sports Department, UT, Chd/ Chd. Sports Council, on the  recommendations of the Hostel warden. For Residential accommodation Rs. 50/- (Rupees fifty only) per day per bed for dormitories.
    • Ground/Court/Hall/Training Centre booked for the hosting/organization  of Sports tournament / meet / Championship other than the    designated discipline shall be charged @ Rs.2000/- per day  with refundable security of Rs.10,000/-.  Timings would be: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

      1. The marking of grounds/courts etc.,  including the material shall be the responsibility of the organizer
      2. The organizer shall pay the daily allowance to the employee those who will be engaged by them during the holidays / after duty hours
      3. A refundable Security in cash to the tune of Rs.5000/- shall be deposited thereof. All the refundable security shall be dealt as per Rules of GFR.
      4. The equipment /marking material shall be the responsibility of the Organizer for the conduct of State /National Championships & other tournaments

      The other terms and conditions regarding use of Sports Centres shall be as under:-

      1. No Amount shall be charges for the tournaments organized by the Sports Department, Chandigarh Sports Council, Education Department, UT, Chandigarh.

      2. The security amount shall be charged even if the booking is provided free of cost by the competent authority.

      3. Electronic Score Board (Optional) and operational charges of flood lights of Sports Complex, (Hockey Stadium) shall be charged @Rs.150/- per day.

      4. Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand only) per day shall be charged in addition to the above for international matches for all disciplines except Cricket Stadium and Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh only) per day shall be charged for Cricket Stadium for international matches. Electricity and Water charges would be extra as assessed by the Engineering Department, U.T. Chandigarh.

      5. The membership charges in the discipline of swimming for Swimming Pool(Nursery), Sec-23 Chandigarh Rs. 1500/- per session(Student) and Rs. 3000/- per session (Others) and All Weather Swimming Pool, sec-23, Chandigarh Rs. 1800/- per session(Student) and Rs. 3500/- per session(Others).

      6. The Director Sports Chandigarh Administration shall be the competent authority to relax the booking charges and conditions.
