Procedure for Availing Subsidy for Battery Operated Vehicles (2 Wheelers & 3 Wheelers)

Subsidy would be provided to the residents of Chandigarh on purchase of any Battery Operated Vehicle (2 / 3 / 4 wheelers) @ 15% of the cost of BOV or Rs. 5000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) whichever is more. 2 wheeler has to be purchased from Chandigarh. Subsidy would be provided on first come first serve basis (10 No. of two wheelers, 5 Nos. of three wheelers and 5 Nos. of 4 wheelers) subject to availability of funds. The following documents have to be submitted in original to Department of Science & Technology, Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh :

  • Invoice accompanied by copy of Registration Certificate issued by RLA, Chandigarh.

  • NOTE : In case of two wheeler BOV’s if same is not required to be registered under Motor Vehicle Act, then subsidy would be released on production of invoice & physical verification of vehicle by Department of Science & Technology.

  • Proof of residence in form of either of the below :-

  • EPIC issued by Election Commission of India accompanied with the details of voter enrolment number for cross verification. If the details on EPIC & Electoral Roll Tally, only then this proof will be considered.

OR

  • Copy of Driving Licence, Passport or Ration Card Specifying the place of residence as Chandigarh (either of the three)
